TIP Manager/Finance Specialist



The Central Transportation Planning Staff of the Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization seeks a transportation planner to manage its Transportation Improvement Program and serve as finance specialist for MPO documents. The selected candidate will provide planning services to the MPO that focus on development and management of the MPO's TIP and include finance documentation for the Long-Range Transportation Plan.

This responsibility requires an understanding of 3C planning and TIP development, strong skills in data management and technical analysys, and excellent communication capabilities. A master's degree in a related field and MPO experience are prerequisites for this position. TIP experience is desirable.

Travel Demand Modeler/Transportation Planner



The Central Transportation Planning Staff (CTPS) of the Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is seeking a travel demand modeler with a background in transportation planning. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Travel demand forecasting
  • Transportation planning
  • Transit service planning
  • Transportation policy evaluation
A master’s degree in planning, engineering, or a related field is required. Other necessary qualifications are knowledge of travel demand modeling methods using TransCAD, and strong analytical and communication skills. Applicants must have the legal status for working in the U.S.

Desirable, but not required, are:
  • Experience with cost-benefit analysis
  • Knowledge of NEPA and MEPA requirements
  • Computer programming skills such as in Visual Basic or Python
  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS
  • Two years of experience in transportation planning or urban planning
