Every year the MPO asks the municipalities in its region to submit MPO proponent-provided information forms to MPO staff for roadway projects that the municipalities will be seeking to have included in the TIP. The MPO uses these forms, along with other resources, to collect information about roadway projects for their evaluation in accordance with TIP criteria. Two sections of the form are filled out by MPO staff, and two by the project proponent.

Transit project selection for the TIP draws from the project selection and development processes conducted by the transit authorities in the region. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and the Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA) will be joined in the selection process in the future by the newly established MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA).

To assist project proponents in using the proponent-provided information form, a handbook is provided.
