Low-Cost Improvements to Bottleneck Locations

As funding for major transportation projects has become scarce, finding low-cost methods for reducing congestion caused by bottlenecks is important. As documented in this memorandum, the MPO identified four suitable bottlenecks in the region and developed low-cost improvements that can mitigate congestion at these locations. Staff worked closely with officials from MassDOT’s Highway and Planning Divisions.
