Schedule and Decision Process

WINTER 2007: PROJECT BEGINS
DATA COLLECTION: Meet with MBTA departments to determine capital needs and priorities
for system preservation.

SPRING 2007
PUBLIC PROCESS: Identify current and future mobility challenges faced by MBTA customers within and between transit corridors.

SUMMER 2007
DEFINE MOBILITY PROBLEMS: Define capital improvement projects to address the identified mobility challenges. Develop evaluation criteria.

SUMMER 2007 – FALL 2007
SCREEN STRATEGIES: Screen capital improvement projects and group them into mobility strategies for each corridor.

FALL 2007 – WINTER 2008
ANALYZE STRATEGIES: Assess the benefits and impacts of projects/strategies to solve mobility challenges.

SPRING 2008
PRIORITIZE STRATEGIES: Apply evaluation criteria to assessment of projects/strategies and develop a prioritized list of solutions for inclusion in the draft PMT.

SUMMER 2008: FINAL PMT
PUBLIC REVIEW AND ADOPTION: Solicit public comment on the draft document. Develop final PMT and submit to MBTA Advisory Board for approval.
